The advantage of a BIM is interoperability which allows stakeholders or specialist consultant

MODEL CHECKING SERVICE

At its simplest level Solibri will check, locate and report any mistakes made during the model creation process. Such mistakes can be a wall within a wall, duplicated items such as columns, beams and windows in the same space, slabs not meeting walls and mistakes with floor definitions etc. A full report is delivered by way of a Solibri Free Viewer and in PDF format so the errors may be repaired and tracked.

Clash Detection

Finding and resolving any physical clashes between disciplines is essential to the project. By employing coordination techniques these clashes can be detected and flagged at an early stage and before work starts on-site. In addition to physical clashes, collision detection can encompass rule sets for accessibility and is also used to locate penetration and transit details where services run through walls etc.

Our models are clash checked prior to delivery as a matter of course. We use NavisWorks Clash Detective or the Solibri Model Checker, depending on the brief and the type of 'design review software' being used by the project (if any). We also provide service for companies who have built or commissioned 3D models from different design contractors, wish to check them against each other, but have not yet invested in the software.

DELIVERABLES

We run clash detection in either NavisWorks or Solibri and when collisions have been detected provide a report to the client showing where the problems are occurring. When the solution is obvious we provide suggestions that the client may decide to implement. Then, after consultation and upon instruction from the client we make the changes necessary and re-run the interference check. Finally we provide notification of the change to all interested parties.
